Today’s Bible Verse:
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear God,
We come to You today feeling small and grateful, knowing that You are our one true God. The same God who freed Your people from slavery in Egypt. Please help us stay focused on You alone, and help us turn away from the things of this world that try to take Your place in our hearts. Keep us from making other things more important than You, whether they’re thoughts in our minds, feelings in our hearts, or stuff we own.
Show us how to worship You honestly and purely, always remembering how You’ve helped Your people and how You never change in Your love for us. We want to live our lives following Your way completely, because You are the only God who deserves our love and praise.
Amen.
