Today’s Bible Verse:
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear God,
in this busy world that never stops, I come to You looking for that perfect peace You promised. I often fall into the trap of thinking my value comes from what I get done, not from who I am as Your child.
Lord, please teach me how to stop pushing so hard and join in the peaceful rhythm of Your rest. When worry makes me feel like I need to keep doing more, remind me that truly resting isn’t being lazy, it’s trusting You completely.
Help me see when trying to handle everything myself is actually going against Your plan. In my family life, my job, and with the people I care about, show me how to be an example of Your peaceful rest that goes against what our culture values.
Let me discover that in quiet moments, I find not emptiness but Your presence, not wasted time but healing. I want to fully experience the deep rest You created for Your children who You love. Please guide me as I make every effort to enter into Your divine rest today.
Amen.
