Today’s Bible Verse:
A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.”
Isaiah 40:3–4, RSV
Today’s Prayer:
Dear God,
We hear Your call to us, like a voice reaching out across empty spaces. Please help us open our hearts to be a clear path for You. You promise to help us by lifting us when we’re down and humbling us when we’re too full of ourselves. Please smooth out the rough spots in our hearts and minds. Help us walk straight on Your path of honesty and goodness. When we’re too proud to listen to You, please humble us. When we’re filled with doubt, please fill us with Your loving presence instead. Help us remove anything that gets in the way of our relationship with You. Make us like a clear window that Your light can shine through brightly. We ask all this in Your holy name.
